All things come to an end. Project which have been in production for months or years are stopped. Sometimes at the expected moment but mostly earlier or later than expected and after more or less the production of the foreseen quantities.  Mostly is it impossible to stop without a surplus of raw material.

This means for the plastic processor a quantity of unusable pellets.Even with the most advanced logistical systems , it is impossible to cope with the unpleasant consequences: financially write off the value and a stock of surplus material. The financial implications become more and more important as the prices of raw material increase especially the last years.
But the surplusses still have a certain value. The only problem is the difficulty to find the interested party able to use immediately and efficiently the material.

The “Vlaams Kunststofcentrum” or (Flemish Center for Plastic Processing) develloped, as neutral and undepending party, the initiative for a “surplus material database”

Purpose

Create an exchange platform which allows and stimulates the exchange between seller and buyer. Only in Flanders, there are about 1000 users of plastic pellets.

Who is concerned in the database?

The database is free accessible for all companies. Sellers are able to offer at a low cost quantities of surplus material on the site.
Buyers or interested people and sellers can contact each other to determine the commercial and logistic conditions.

Functionalities

The VKC will increase the possibilities by adding supplementary functions to the system such as search engines, personalised information according to the profile, a.s.o….

Structure for certificates for regrinded material

The VKC developes a certification system for regrinded materials. The purpose is to use the same platform for this kind of material.

Operating system

• Select your browser
• Select the url and type www.krdb.be
• Search for the adequate material in the database
• Click on the material you choose
• To see this page you have to log in
• Register
• As soon as registration is ok you receive an e-mail
• Click on the link to activate the registration
• After successful registration you can log-in
• If you wish to offer material go to “mijn account” , “toevoegen materiaal” (add material)
• Give the specs and click “toevoegen” (add)
• If you want to buy go to “restmaterialen kopen” (buy surplus materials)
• Select the desired material
• Sent a message to the seller of the material
• The seller receives the e-mail
• The seller reads the message of the possible buyer
• The sellers returns to his account and removes the sold product
• Log out

 

VKC offers translation service for translations from English, German, French, Spanish into perfect Dutch for technical matters around plastics and plastic converting technology, electricity, mechanics, hydraulics and electronics. Manuals, leaflets and other documents can from now on be in the language of your customer.
